An ASME fellow and founding editor-in-chief of the International Journal of Powertrains, Dr Song's previous experience includes being principal engineer (Eaton), VP/CTO (Weichai New Energy) and leading the global-first commercial vehicle DHT development. Song's current research is on frontier technologies: DHC engines, hydrogen safety sensors (response time <0.25 sec), auto informatics. Song has extensive global speaking experience (30+ invited talks in USA, China and other regions, ASME best paper award). |
🎓️️Assoc. Prof. Kwan Yiew Lau | IEEE Senior Member Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, Malaysia Lau Kwan Yiew (K. Y. Lau) is Associate Professor and Competent Electrical Engineer at the Institute of High Voltage and High Current, Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. He received his PhD degree in Electronics and Electrical Engineering from the University of Southampton, UK, in 2013 after completing his MEng degree in Electrical Power Engineering and BEng degree in Electrical Engineering (First Class Honours) from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia in 2010 and 2007, respectively. He holds professional engineering credentials from multiple international institutions, including the Institution of Engineering and Technology and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. His research interests include high voltage engineering, dielectric materials, and renewable energy systems, where he has published over 100 scientific papers in numerous reputable journals, achieving a Scopus h-index of over 20. In 2024, he was ranked among the World’s Top 2% Scientists by Stanford University and Elsevier. |
